The company is currently looking for a SQL Server Database Admin to join their team. As a member of this team, you will have the opportunity to be a part of interesting SQL Server projects across multiple companies, giving you exposure to a diverse range of customers and SQL challenges.

As the new Database Admin, you will have the opportunity to grow more than in any other full-time job. You will work directly with each client, meaning there won’t be much bureaucracy to cut through when making changes. The team has developed unique SQL Server processes over the years and the team is always open to new ideas.

Within this role, you will:

• Design innovative SQL Server solutions (on-prem and cloud)
• Proactively discover DB issues, bottlenecks and recommendations
• Troubleshoot a diverse set of issues from multiple clients
• Performance tune slow-performing SQL

This is a full-time position. The working hours are set between Monday and Friday, approximately 9 AM to 6 PM Eastern European Standard Time (GMT +2) with some flexibility to start earlier or finish later by an hour or two.

During the first week, you will go through a well-documented onboarding process, reading through the documents provided to learn about how the company works and what is expected. In the second week, you will be introduced to the daily work and will start slowly working on the first client SQL Server. By the third week, you are expected to be 75-90% productive as a DBA team member, and by the fourth week, you are expected to be 95% productive in how to handle most client work, automations, and internal SQL tools. By the fifth week, you will be handling daily client work, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and improving Red9 processes such as automations, PowerShell, and internal SQL tools.

This company is a unique opportunity for a SQL Server DBA as they specialize in working exclusively with Microsoft SQL Servers. The clients they work with have a wide variety of SQL features in use, which is something that many candidates would not have the chance to work with in a full-time position. They work with on-premises, HyperV, VMWare, Azure, AWS, and Google cloud environments. In this role, you will also have the opportunity to be a part of the development of their internal SQL Server tools and automations!

To excel in this role, you need to have:

• 2+ years of experience with TSQL development
• 1-3+ years of SQL DBA
• Experience with PowerShell and Performance Tuning
• Excellent spoken and written English
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to follow and build standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Brownie points for:

• Experience with complex migrations and upgrades
• Experience with baselining
• Experience with AlwaysOn
• Experience in advanced performance tuning
• Strong automation skills
• Strong SQL Server architect skills

The ideal candidate for this position should be open to coaching, eager to learn, and proactive in their work style. Additionally, they should be able to follow SOPs and work effectively within established systems and processes.

• Junior to mid-level experience(<5 years of experience): $2500 - $4500* per month
• Senior-level experience(5+ years of experience): $4500 - $6500* per month
