Insight Matters specializes in providing financial insights and services to clients. They offer a wide range of financial advisory services, financial reporting, fractional financial team (CFO and Controller), as well as bookkeeping and accounting.

Insight Matters is currently looking for a Junior Accountant to join their team. As the number of clients is increasing, you will play a key role in helping the finance team offer better and more precise financial data to the management. More specifically, within this role, you will:

• Record all business transactions by posting and processing journal entries
• Update accounts receivable and issue invoices
• Update accounts payable and perform account reconciliations
• Perform bank reconciliations
• Perform account reconciliations
• Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting guidelines
• Assist with reviewing expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned
• Update financial data in the relevant accounting platform to ensure that information is accurate and readily available when needed
• Generate weekly/monthly reports
• Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings
• Assist with other accounting projects

During the onboarding period, you will receive comprehensive training that will include video tutorials, shadowing sessions with experienced colleagues, and hands-on tasks to help you learn by doing. This training will enable you to get to know the clients better, become familiar with the company's procedures and get comfortable with the tools you'll be using on a daily basis. You'll also have access to Zoom meetings with a mentor and support team as needed.

This is a full-time role, with the flexibility to set your own working hours. The only condition is that at least three of your standard work hours fall between 8 AM and 5 PM CET. Ideally, you'll also have a few hours of overlap with South America (GMT-3).

To excel in this role, you need to have:

• 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting
• University degree in accounting
• Experience in accounting platforms, preferably Quickbooks Online and/or Xero
• Experience working remotely

Brownie points for:

• Experience working remotely in a finance-as-a-service company
• Experience working at a company that operates at a high level of professionalism, comparable to that of the Big 4
