As a Shopify UI Web Developer at Posh Peanut, you will play a vital role in enhancing the company’s online presence and ensuring a seamless shopping experience for their customers.

🌟 More specifically, in this role, you will:

• Monitor and enhance website performance, focusing on page speed and functionality to deliver an exceptional user experience.
• Implement code edits and manage tags in their custom Shopify theme and Google Tag Manager.
• Partner with our website redesign agency as we build out our brand new custom Shopify theme by evaluating our code base.
• Vet and evaluate software solutions that interact with the company’s website, ensuring optimal performance and compatibility.
• Utilize customer data points, including heatmaps and interviews, to gather insights and inform website improvements.
• Participate in split tests and analyze results to enhance the website's design, usability, and conversion rate.
• Contribute to solidifying internal quality assurance processes related to new website changes.

During the initial weeks in this role, you will familiarize yourself with the Posh Peanut brand, the team and the company culture. You will join calls with the company’s website redesign agency to gain an understanding of the new website theme and actively contribute to its successful implementation. Additionally, you will assist in managing daily operational tasks on the current site and support the migration of specific website tools. While you will get an understanding of the brand and the products, the company is looking for an experienced Shopify UI Web Developer to hit the ground running and lead their technical efforts.

This is a part-time role, with the potential to transition to full-time after a few months. Working hours are flexible, allowing you to manage your time effectively. However, it is essential to have at least 4 hours of overlap with the team in the PST/MST time zone. You’ll also need to adjust your schedule in order to attend weekly meetings.

To excel in this role, you need to have:

• 3+ years of solid experience in UI or Frontend Development, with a proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, specifically on Shopify Plus/Liquid.
• Knowledge of Vue.js, Alpine.js and Webpack
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts and ideas to non-technical audiences effectively.
• Exposure to GraphQL in either client or server environments.
• Full-stack experience with languages like JavaScript and PHP
• Familiarity with AWS cloud platform services such as S3, CloudFront, and Lambda.
• Experience working with databases, particularly MySQL.
• Agility in quickly learning new languages and tools.
• Previous work experience at a professional services company, such as a marketing agency or consulting firm.
• Proven track record of managing complex web development projects.
• Background in the eCommerce industry.
• Hands-on experience with the Shopify Plus platform.
• Ability to take ownership of sprint tasks and effectively burn down workloads.
• Extensive experience in developing CSS3 styles directly and through SASS, with deep knowledge of SASS features and functionality.
• Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery.
• Familiarity with advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks like VueJs and ReactJS.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, particularly with the DOM.
• Strong understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX.
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and effective workarounds.
• Experience using GIT as a version control system, collaborating with a team.
• Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring adherence to them in application development.
• Basic knowledge of image authoring tools to perform tasks like cropping, resizing, and minor adjustments.
• Familiarity with design tools like Sketch or Photoshop.

Brownie points to candidates who have a good understanding of UI principles and can contribute to the visual aspects of the website, even if they are not design experts.
