About the role

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Remote Controller to join our fast-growing ecommerce company. As the Remote Controller, you will play a crucial role in overseeing all financial activities, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, providing insightful financial analysis, and managing cash flow cycles. This is a remote position, and you will have the flexibility to work from your preferred location. However, it is important to have overlapping hours of availability from 8 am to 12 pm EST to collaborate effectively with our team. Responsibilities:

• Oversee bookkeeping tasks and maintain accurate financial records remotely.
• Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Collaborate with our CPA remotely to ensure tax compliance and effective financial planning.
• Monitor and analyze cost of goods, import duties, and other expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Conduct regular profitability and performance analysis on products remotely.
• Manage cash flow cycles remotely, including forecasting and optimizing working capital.
• Handle accounts payable (AP) processes remotely and maintain strong vendor relationships.
• Manage payroll processes remotely, ensuring accurate calculations and compliance with labor laws.
• Develop and maintain internal controls remotely to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in financial management.

 

About you

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (CPA certification preferred).
• Proven experience as a Controller or similar role in an ecommerce or retail environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficient in financial analysis, cost management, and cash flow forecasting.
• Experience with AP and payroll processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in financial software and MS Excel.
• Familiarity with ecommerce platforms and industry-specific challenges.
• Ability to work remotely with overlapping availability from 8 am to 12 pm EST.

• Part-Time or Full-time and fully remote employment
• Flexible working hours; however, there is a mandatory 4-hour overlap between 8 AM - 12 PM EST on some days of the week
