The success of KillerGuitarRigs.com speaks for itself - less than three years after its launch, it's now generating over a million page views per month. Massey Publishing's team is spread across different parts of the world, including Orlando, Serbia, Panama, Argentina, and South Africa, and they all work together to ensure that the website remains a fun and engaging place for both its readers and team members.

Massey Publishing's approach to leadership is collaborative and mission-driven. Rather than just giving orders, they involve their team members in decision-making processes, making everyone feel like they're part of a shared vision. This approach has created a culture of engagement and passion, making Massey Publishing a great place to work!

Massey Publishing is currently looking for an Operations Manager to bring order and consistency to their business operations, serve as the key point of contact and hold all the operational pieces together.

As the new Operations Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the business, ensuring that everything runs smoothly. This way, you will provide support for the CEO, enabling him to focus on improving the business rather than engaging in its operational tasks. As the #2 of the entire business, you will be instrumental in delegating tasks and hiring team members to execute those projects.

More specifically, you will:

  • Collaborate with the business analyst to document all existing processes and workflows within the company
  • Develop a schedule for repeating tasks and delegate responsibilities to appropriate team members
  • Assess whether new ideas can be implemented, and determine how to transform these ideas into actionable projects with clear and defined steps.
  • Implement project management software such as Clickup or Notion to streamline workflow and track progress
  • Hire and manage a link-building team to improve website traffic and SEO ranking
  • Monitor the link-building team's performance to ensure that they are meeting the expected standards, and set goals for them if necessary
  • Work with the team to develop a plan for building books and courses, identifying the key personnel responsible for each item, and ensuring they have everything they need to complete their tasks
  • Coordinate the website redesign process, including identifying key requirements and working with external designers to ensure the website is modern and user-friendly
  • Continuously identify areas for improvement in company processes, and develop and implement solutions to streamline operations and maximize efficiency
  • Coordinate meetings with writers, designers, and other stakeholders to ensure that everyone is on the same page
  • Serve as the key point of contact to ensure the smooth functioning of all operational aspects of the business, effectively serving as the "glue" that holds everything together on a day-to-day basis.

During the first few weeks, you will learn more about the business and the founder's expansion plans, followed by documenting workflows and making improvements where necessary. As the company expands into new revenue streams, you'll set up project management software, work on hiring a link-building team, and explore new ideas to get things moving forward.

This is a full-time position that offers a flexible schedule, allowing you to set your own working hours, as long as you are available for meetings a few times a week to discuss the latest developments in the business.

If you're passionate about music and guitars, this could be the perfect opportunity for you. As the company's profile grows, you'll have access to free guitar gear for review purposes, and even have the chance to attend the annual NAMM conference in California to network with industry professionals and raise the company's profile. Don't miss out on this exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team in the world of music and guitars!

To excel in this role, you need to have:

  • 3-5 years of experience as an Operations Manager or Project Manager
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Tech savviness and a high level of IT literacy
  • A lifelong passion for guitars

Brownie points for:

  • Experience with hiring, including creating job ads, interviewing and selecting candidates, and creating an onboarding process
  • Affiliate website experience, with a knowledge of the general landscape (Amazon Associates, Impact, CJ, Awin, Mediavine, Adthrive, Ezoic etc)
  • SEO experience including on and off-page SEO, and using tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Surfer SEO etc.
  • WordPress experience, including such builders and plugins as GeneratePress, Elementor, WP Rocket, Yoast, Wordfence etc.
  • Email marketing experience, including basic copywriting and using tools such as MailerLite, OptinMonster, ActiveCampaign etc

  • AI experience, using tools such as ChatGPT, Jasper, Bing AI etc.
  • Facebook/Instagram experience, including using Meta Business Suite and tools such as Later, Hootsuite etc
  • Having a formal music background

The ideal candidate for this role is someone with a positive attitude, who is solution-oriented rather than problem-focused, and who takes pride in their work. You should also have a genuine desire to help others and see them succeed, rather than solely focusing on making money or delegating tasks. Aside from this, you need to be proactive and take initiative, tackling issues head-on, rather than waiting for direction. If this sounds like you, go ahead and apply!
