Full Time 5000.00 - 5500.00 USD Type: Monthly

Click here to watch a video by François Mommens, the owner and CEO of Linkody:

François is an IT engineer & entrepreneur who has had great success in creating several innovative SEO tools.

One of them is Linkody, an SEO Tool for backlink monitoring and link building management, offering a complete solution to webmasters and SEO agencies to manage entirely their link tracking and link building processes. It helps SEO agencies, brands, and site owners work on their link building and improve their ranking in search engines!

François is also the founder of LinkStorm, a tool used for internal linking optimization, and IndexCheckr, a tool allowing the user to check if any page is indexed by Google.

The company is currently a team of two, looking to expand remotely. Francois (located in Spain) is the founder and the CEO, and Alex (located in North Macedonia) is in charge of the content and link building. Their plan is to develop a business based on values of freedom, respect, life ownership, and personal growth - values that would contribute to a result-oriented, time-flexible business, with a team of respectful and responsible people looking to learn, grow & improve. The new members joining the team would have great potential for career advancement as the company grows!

Right now, the company is looking for a Full Stack Lamp/Symfony/React Developer with at least 3 years of experience working as a developer with the required technical stack.

To be considered for this role, you need:

  • Linux (Ubuntu): your personal computer has to run on Linux
  • Excellent knowledge and 3-5 years of experience with PHP
  • 2+ years of experience with Symfony (you must know the framework and its main components very well, Twig, Doctrine, Webpack Encore, API platform… and apply Symfony’s best practices)
  • Strong experience with React
  • Good SQL knowledge, understanding of query performance, indexes, and database design
  • Experience with Bootstrap 5, CSS3/HTML, and UI front-end
  • Experience developing complex SaaS applications
  • Experience designing and consuming APIs
  • Experience with unit tests, functional tests, and test-driven development
  • Applying foundational computer science principles to implement well-designed, easily extended, and maintainable software
  • Experience using SVN in a team setting
  • Willingness to test the code thoroughly for any bugs or performance issues before shipping
  • Good spoken and written English skills

Bonus points for:

  • Symfony 5/6 certification
  • Experience with scraping websites
  • DevOp skills (OS, apache, shell, cron, logrotate, ssh…)
  • Knowledge of ElasticSearch

As a successful candidate, you will:

  • Contribute to the business growth via the developments and improvements of current and future SaaS
  • Maintain software up to date with the latest tech stack versions and run necessary migrations
  • Ensure the software is stable, bug-free, fast, and scalable

During the first few weeks, you will get acquainted with the IndexCheckr code and work on a few new features. You’ll also look at Linkody's code and create a list of tasks and a plan for its migration from Symfony 1.4 to Symfony 6. Tasks will be assigned via PivotalTracker, with the CEO available for any support you may need.

This is a full-time role. There are no fixed hours and you can organise your time as you like, but preferably you will have some overlap with the rest of the team. You will be a part of an early-stage startup with a horizontal hierarchy, and your work will directly impact the user experience and the growth of the business.

The ideal candidate is someone fully autonomous who is able to solve problems on their own. You need to be confident about finding the required information, reading docs, and learning how to solve technical challenges and issues on your own.

If you are also trustworthy, positive, and able to take criticism and feedback well - go ahead and apply!

What’s in it for you?

  • $5000 - $5500* per month
  • Opportunity to work directly with the founder & learn a lot
  • Flexibility to organise your own schedule
  • Potential for salary growth
  • Potential to grow with the company & become a Team Lead

*Please note that this is a gross salary and that you are responsible for any tax-related procedures in your country of residence. We kindly ask you to apply only if you are happy to work remotely as an independent contractor.

This position will be closed as soon as we find the perfect match. So, make sure to read the description carefully and take your time to submit a high-quality application that stands out.

If you apply, JobRack will respond promptly and keep you updated throughout the process.

Please expect the hiring process to include:

4 - Attending video interviews where you will have the opportunity to talk more about your previous experience and the new role
