Financial Controller - Providing Insights that Matter to clients [CLOSED]

About the role:

We are looking for an all-round financial controller to help us provide our clients with solid financial information & guidance about their business. Your focus will be on FS review as well as analyzing our clients results for their management reporting.

We are a full-service financial support service, working mainly with e-Commerce and Service companies - delivering the full finance function, from accounting to fractional CFO services, and from management reporting & analysis to internal control.

Our clients use our services to answer critical business questions: can they invest in hiring a new person? Are they getting the right return on marketing? Where are they leaving money on the table? Which products or services are most profitable?

Our team is fully remote and currently spread out over various countries in Europe and Asia, while our clients are mainly in the US, Europe, and Asia. We are a small but growing team - where delivering quality to our clients is the #1 priority and have an open and informal team culture based on trust and transparency.

You’ll be working mostly with two end-to-end accountants as well as the management team (Rob, Maj and Milena) with strong background in Finance, Strategy, Audit and Operations.

What you’ll be doing

In a typical week you will oversee the monthly closing, review to maintain our ‘0 mistake’ ambition. You will work together with our operations manager to improve our processes to deliver faster and better results for our clients. You will be the ‘translator’ between the business vision of our clients and the accountants.

Responsibilities

• FS review of our accounts – as the ‘second line of defense’ in our promise of 0 mistakes.
• Identify & implement improvements in our internal processes and client contact processes
• Analyze the financial statements of our clients and include your key observations and recommendations
• Support and train our accountants
• Liaise with our clients to resolve accounting related questions & process improvements

To succeed in this role, you most likely have:

• 5+ years’ experience in accounting or audit
• Experienced in handling multiple clients with weekly and monthly timelines
• Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices (IAS, IFRS, US GAAP)
• Experience with major accounting platforms such as but not limited to QBO, Xero and Hubdoc
• Experience with working remote
• Experience in working with e-Commerce and/or Agencies
• Strong business acumen
• Experience having responsibility for businesses operating in the international market is a plus
