What sets us apart from other marketing providers is our extensive knowledge of not only online marketing, but also the tree care industry, including the challenges of running a tree service company and the issues faced by crews in the field.

Tree Care Marketing Solutions is an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity and inclusion. We’re working hard to grow a strong team of exceptionally talented individuals who bring a variety of perspectives, nationalities, backgrounds, experiences, identities, and abilities to the company, and are committed to building an inclusive, supportive place for you to do the best work of your career.

About the role

We're a web design and digital marketing agency in the U.S. looking for a web designer who is an expert in Beaver Builder.

If you’re a talented, creative, reliable, and experienced WordPress developer with great attention to detail, we’d love for you to join our team! The ideal candidate will be a skilled WordPress developer with experience in both the development and design of new websites, landing pages, etc., and ongoing website maintenance. We are looking for someone who is ready to hit the ground running and take on projects immediately with little to no training.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This position involves building fully custom websites from scratch using Beaver Builder, creating landing pages in Unbounce, and making content, layout, plugin, and functionality changes/updates to existing client websites. You must be able to work from a set of hand-drawn design sketches and/or convert a Figma or= PSD file to WordPress, and make design choices independently, incorporating modern web design trends and best practices. In a nutshell, here’s what you will be doing:

  • Set up and build custom WordPress sites from scratch using the Beaver Builder page builder and approved plugins
  • Set up WooCommerce stores within a client’s website (only a few of our clients need this so it’s not the primary focus)
  • Develop landing pages for PPC campaigns using WordPress and/or Unbounce
  • Implement individual website elements to be used across websites
  • Complete all work according to best practices for UX, SEO, clean code, performance optimization, responsive design, security, and accessibility
  • Edit and/or add new features, plugins, and content to existing websites
  • Select, adjust, crop, and compress images for use on websites
  • Ensure that all websites are fully mobile responsive, quickly identify and fix any problems with layout on different device sizes
  • Perform browser compatibility assessments and testing before launching a new site
  • Maintain existing websites, including testing and identifying technical problems, updating plugins, fixing broken links, etc., and troubleshooting any issues
  • Set up integrations (e.g., Stripe, ActiveCampaign, SendGrid) using an API, Make, or Zapier
  • Migrate websites from the development server to the live server on WP Engine, including updating DNS records, DMARC, and setting up Cloudflare
  • Are excited to learn new things and grow your skills (because there’s always a better way to do something and more to know)
  • Are an independent type who can happily work on your own (with appropriate guidance) but also enjoy being part of a team
  • Will roll up your sleeves and figure out tough problems on your own, but are willing to ask for help when you run into a problem you just can’t solve
  • Are patient and flexible - our clients are bound to change their minds at some point and we'll have to adapt
  • Always strive to communicate proactively and responsively, replying to questions or emails within 24 hours, responding to Slack messages quickly, as well as updating and clearly documenting your work in Monday.com (our project management tool)
  • Want to be here for the long haul (We’re not interested in training you if you’re just looking for a short-term freelance job to bring in some cash or plan to go off and work for another agency once you’ve developed more skills - please don’t apply if that’s your goal.)
