What will you be doing exactly?

You will be our designated WordPress developer. We have a couple of large tech sites but are looking to expand and build websites in additional exciting niches, and that is where you come in.

You will be doing a lot of:

• Design-based programming. We work with designers who come up with wireframes and designs for our new and existing websites. Based on these designs, you will create fast, SEO-optimized, modern WordPress websites, which work excellent with all major browsers and all types of devices, with a focus on usability and great UX.
• Continuous website maintenance and updates. It’s your job to make sure our sites are always running 100% efficiently and that no functionalities break.
• Managing staging and development versions of our websites, as well as the live websites
• Designing, building, and finetuning special interactive tools for our visitors
• Monitoring and optimizing our hosting/CDN settings

What competencies are we looking for?

We are looking for a senior WordPress developer with extensive experience with JavaScript libraries, who can handle frontend as well as backend scripting.

Furthermore, you recognize yourself in the following criteria:

• You are a one-man army, a programming powerhouse.
• Strong written and spoken English language skills.
• Solid organizational and administrative skills.
• A love for technology, tech-savvy, assertive, and creative.
• A pro-active mindset, someone who comes up with solutions, ideas, and ways to continuously make our websites better. You are the programming expert here, and you feel comfortable taking the lead in our programming efforts.
• A quick learner, you show initiative and take responsibility for your work. You take great pride in your work when things go well, and if things don’t go so well, you immediately go looking for a solution.
• Excellent HTML, CSS, JavaScript proficiency.
• You know how to handle and implement structured data (JSON LD, microdata).
• You have a decent remote workspace (e.g. home office) with a good internet connection and decent hardware (computer/laptop).

You will be working remotely. We'll offer you a competitive salary, as we are truly looking for someone who wants to excel. • Hours per week: 40
• Salary indication: $3.000 per month gross / $36.000 per year gross

There will be a 3-month trial period for the role to check that we are a good match for each other (fully paid of course).

We are an online publisher from the Netherlands, where our main office is located. Many team members currently work remotely, from all over the world. We are big in tech/cybersecurity, but are planning on building some exciting new websites in new niches which I will tell you about in person!
