THE FUNDAMENTALS

The purpose of this document isn’t to create a “feel-good” page of poetically chosen (but vague and meaningless) words - so we can hang it up in the office and give ourselves a pat on the back.

Instead, the purpose of VANSBURG’s Strategic Objective is to outline in plain English, told via stories, of why we exist and where we are going.

Capturing that Fleeting Moment of Happiness

Do you remember when you were a child, on your birthday or Christmas, the anticipation you had waiting for the present you’ve been wanting the entire year? Do you remember dreaming and thinking about it for countless nights before falling asleep? Do you remember the pure joy you felt when you finally opened it up, how you marveled, how you showed it off to your friends, and how you kept it clean and protected? It might be a bike, basketball, or PlayStation for you. In Mark’s (co-founder of VANSBURG) case, it was a bright neon-green Gameboy Color.

These moments don’t stay around forever. You probably eventually forgot about or lost interest in your present. However, for that fleeting moment of a few hours, a few days, or a few weeks, when you were there, feeling nothing but bliss and satisfaction, that’s the moment we are trying to create at VANSBURG for our customers. Everything is in support of capturing and maximizing those moments.

A Wolf Pack with No More Than 7 Members

VANSBURG is a wolf pack. In the wild, a wolf pack typically contains no more than 7 members. So, this is the maximum we will have per team as well. As the company grows, members will break off and form their own packs, so we never have more than 7 people per team.

Here’s an excerpt from Discovery Channel:

“A pack mentality of extreme loyalty and devotion to the group binds the wolves together as a unit, despite times of scarce prey or violence.”

Today, people are feeling increasingly isolated despite the interconnected world. The fundamental need of belonging to a pack is often lacking in our daily lives. VANSBURG fulfills that need.

It doesn’t matter what happens in the rest of your life, when you step into VANSBURG, you’re with your pack. You know you have loyal and devoted pack members looking out for you.

We believe having quality sleep is the foundation to everything good that happens in life. Whether it’s success, happiness, health or wealth, everything stems from sleep. So, we work to give people control over their sleep in our chaotic modern lives. To give them the groundwork that empowers and enables everything else.

To realize this vision, we create products such as the Manta Sleep Mask.

We also run an Amazon business to generate cash to fund the pursuit of this vision.
