The team at Sparky designs, builds, manages, and optimizes high-converting, highly branded eCommerce experiences. We design for brands on many platforms, but exclusively develop on Shopify at the moment.

Our customers work with us because we do high quality work and make every interaction enjoyable. Our mission is to deliver the world's most enjoyable agency experience.

We've worked with some very high profile brands such as Converse and Crocs, but we're most proud of our work with growth-stage clients who have partnered with us early and have grown very quickly. A great example is Legends.com.

Additionally, I'm proud of how we've been able to lock in our focus to Shopify and present a working model that is more efficient than other agencies. We've transitioned away from billing hourly rates and have a system that works great for ongoing optimization contracts.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Weā€™re looking for someone to help fill some of our varied design needs. The exact purpose will depend on the person and their strengths, but may encompass some or all of the following:

  • eCommerce UI/UX design,
  • Web design,
  • Day-to-day creative (e.g. marketing emails, social media ads, etc.),
  • Brand design (e.g. logos, style guides, brand books, etc.).

Most likely, the immediate focus will be on brand design and creative production. This may encompass brand identity design, style guides, and creative such as social ads, emails, web creative, etc.

This role will be interacting on a daily basis with Ian (CEO) and Jay (delivery manager), although there will be a lot of interaction with the rest of the team.

Your main responsibilities as a Graphic Designer will include:

  • Being a versatile designer for digital creative (emails, ads, social, etc.)
  • Logo/brand identity & style guide projects
  • Web design (specifically eCommerce)

Tools we use:

  • Internal PM tool
  • Slack
  • ZoomG
  • G-Suite

Currently, the team structure is as follows:


ā‡¢ Ian: CEO - leads client engagements and solutions engineering. UX background with a blend of technical and creative skills, so heā€™s often relatively hands-on with clients' tech stacks. (Based in Boston)

ā‡¢ Cory: Lead Shopify developer - primarily focuses on custom theme development and more complex theme logic (Based in Miami)

ā‡¢ Jay: Delivery Manager - hybrid role of account/project manager and Shopify platform Admin work for clients (Based in Boston)

ā‡¢ Jake: UI/UX design lead (based in Sweden)

ā‡¢ Oliver: Jr. Shopify developer - typically handles very small Shopify tasks and basic front-end work (Based in Philippines)

ABOUT YOU

The skills of the most suitable candidate:

  • Excellent with the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, and XD.
  • Fantastic eye for design and ability to recognize, understand, and ultimately design for strong brands

Brownie points for:

  • Illustration, animation, video editing social media savvy
  • Web development experience and/or knowledge would also be fantastic
  • Experience designing and building email templates in a program such as Klaviyo, MailChimp, etc.
  • Experience creating unique-looking sites on Squarespace
