Wordpress Expert Needed for Radio Station Website [CLOSED]

Full Time Negotiable

ReactJS NodeJS Wordpress

Background

This project is for a live stream audiovisual music platform based in Korea. The company recently that earned the Mixcloud Award for Best Online Radio Station in Asia-Pacific. Recognition like that has come at an exciting time for Korea’s electronic music generally, with the scene enjoying a period of good growth which has piqued worldwide interest and associated collaborations with us. Hence our requirement to create a fitting web platform.

  • We're a live stream platform dedicated to helping underground electronic music and artistic talent in Korea to reach new global audiences.
  • We stream video daily via the Facebook and web via our studio in Itaewon, Seoul which so far has featured around 600+ domestic and visiting global electronic music, with about 200 residents with regularly scheduled shows and diverse tastes.
  • Away from the studio we also broadcast special events and have streamed international festivals such as ALTN8 in Hong Kong and Wonderfruit in Thailand.

The Problem
Our radio station is trapped inside of Facebook. We want to live outside of Facebook, making it easy for our fans to discover our older content.

What’s so bad about being in Facebook?

  • Our fans can’t get access to our content unless they are logged into Facebook.
  • Archive and search are non-existent. Our fans can’t find our stuff without streaming through our entire history. Painfully. Slowly.
  • Our fans can’t just play the content in the background, on the run, while doing other things. (This project will *not* solve this problem, but you will be laying the groundwork to solve this problem.)

The Job To Be Done

We need someone to take us through *at least* our Minimum Viable Product for the new version of our web page.

We need:

  • A Wordpress Site, including some pretty wonky Wordpress tweaks (so it would be good if you were really deep into the way Wordpress works, or are willing to learn)
  • Our Videos all embedded in entries from DailyMotion (so you'll need to be comfortable exploring the DailyMotion API)
  • A server cache of the videos from DailyMotion
  • API access to those videos (so you'll need to feel comfortable writing an API)

We have a complete specification of what we'd like you to build, but we know that this is an iterative process. It's not going to happen overnight.
