WordPress / Backend Developer [CLOSED]
This is a role working with the team ServeNoMaster.com. We are looking for someone to take over all backend/tech-related duties. From updating WordPress plugins and building WordPress child themes to connecting LearnDash to our shopping cart via API or Zapier. We need someone who is enthusiastic, creative, hard-working, highly organized and with great problem-solving skills to help us clear up some major tech obstacles in 2020. This fully remote role is a great opportunity for someone to really develop and progress their skills, and take on more responsibility as we grow. We will provide all the software tools you will need.
About This Role
This is a part-time position in the range of 10-20 hours per week managing our software backend.
This is suitable for someone hard-working, who really wants to learn and grow, develop their skills, prove themselves and take on more responsibility. A passion for technology is critical.
You will be expected to take responsibility for studying the APIs of the tools we use and coming up with solutions to our problems. A passion for website optimization and page load times is critical. There are constant changes in this world and we want you to stay on top of them. We have an existing list of tasks for you to work through as well as big picture ideas for you to develop your own tasks within.
You will have access to dozens of top-of-the-line online training courses, the most powerful software on the planet, daily coaching from our team and the chance to actually do the work, make some mistakes and learn from experience.
The role involves working with me (CEO), business partners and the other members of the team as required.
If you had been working for us in the last couple of weeks these are a sample of some of the tasks you would have done:
- Developed a staging area version of our membership site
- Removed wishlist member
- Connected Paykickstart to Learndash via custom API
- Demonstrated that your solution worked
- Pushed the new version of the site live
- Reviewed and streamlined existing zapier zaps
- Fixed our htaccess so we no longer show http
- Replaced our old CDN with a new one via Kinsta
- Worked with our SEO team to find and batch repair 404 errors and dead links
- Converted our custom WP Astra theme into a child theme so that we can easily update the site as needed
- Worked to speed up both our blog and membership sites
- Improved the overall functionality of our technology stack
