Ok, ok…we actually make serious online marketing education content for website owners. But we’re internet nerds at heart, so no reason we can’t make our content more fun, right?

My name is Mark and I’m the Co-Founder of Authority Hacker. Our business has grown a lot in the last 7 years and we’ve been a fully remote team long before the pandemic enforced it on everyone.

Over 8,000 customers from around the world have taken one of our online video training courses. Millions more have read our Blog, listened to our Podcast or watched us on YouTube.

Video is at the heart of what we do. We use video:

• In our training courses to teach
• On YouTube to engage
• To film our podcast so we reach more people
• On social media to grab attention
• In our advertising to reach more customers

Myself and my Co-Founder Gael film most of the explainer/face videos, online interviews and screencast tutorials. At Authority Hacker, we cover topics such as SEO, content marketing, link building, paid traffic, affiliate marketing, growth hacking and just about any other marketing topic a website owner would be interested in.

We produce a lot of video and are now looking to hire a full time video editor to edit and help produce all our videos.

You’ll receive footage from us and you’ll then be responsible for editing the final video. This includes making production decisions, cutting out fluff, asking for extra footage, giving it rhythm and making it more dynamic & enjoyable for people to watch.

We are fanatical about making our video content top quality and so you’ll lead rounds of quality improvements. If you have an idea about how we can make better videos, you’ll have our full attention!

You’ll be responsible for editing our training course videos. These are relatively simple face videos or screencast tutorial videos. We’re looking to level up our use of motion graphics and effects here.

You’ll also take over editing of our weekly 45 min podcast video. We’ve just recently started filming this on video and there are many opportunities for us to do better. You’ll work closely with us to improve our average watch time.

Currently, all our podcast videos are on our YouTube channel. However, we’re launching a new YouTube channel shortly and will be producing shorter, more YouTube algorithm friendly content. Think ‘Linus Tech Tips’ but for online marketing. You’ll be responsible for editing these videos and have direct input into the ideation and creative process.

With all the footage we produce, you’ll also be tasked with creating short clips for social media and video ads that grab people’s attention. We welcome your silly, funny or downright crazy ideas here – we like to stand out!

In addition, we expect you to be very well organized. If you have 74 files on your desktop all named ‘Video1111final(really_final).mp4’ then you probably won’t fit in here.

I know file organization is not why you get up in the morning, so we’ll let you have unlimited vacation days to make it up to you.

If you want to ace your application, you’ll need to convince us that you have the skills but also share in our values. Yes we want to make epic content, but we’re also highly self critical. We realize that continuously improving quality is something that we need to obsess over every day.

Requirements

• Meaningful experience editing video for YouTube/social media
• An obsession with always improving video quality
• Motion graphics experience
• After Effects (or similar) experience
• A desire to learn about our field of work – online marketing
• Strong written and spoken English language skills
• A lightning fast computer
• Very Fast Internet connection is essential
