Social Media Content Manager [CLOSED]

This is a dream-role for a highly-creative, social media savvy, university graduate looking for an opportunity to have major input into developing and creating content for a small, sustainable lunch bag brand, Fluf (http://fluf.ca).

Fluf is a women-owned small business in based in Toronto. We make organic cotton lunch bags, snack bags & backpacks for the whole family. Fun stuff for kids; fun stuff for adults. Our bags are all made from sustainably sourced and / or recycled materials, and everything is ethically handmade in our GOTS-certified, family-run manufacturing facilities in India. 

Are you obsessed with social media, and specifically Instagram, TikTok and Twitter? Do you have a keen eye for new trends and know how to optimize content for the different platforms and algorithms? Are you comfortable creating content and possibly being on-camera when needed?

We are seeking an inventive, content marketing manager to lead our marketing efforts across social media platforms.  The successful candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing and executing high-quality, on-trend content with the goal of increasing Fluf’s social media presence and engagement.

The Role

Working together with the owner, you will take the lead in devising, planning and overseeing all aspects of Fluf’s social media strategy, as follows: 

• Formulate on-brand, high-level social media strategy across platforms
• Plan, create & post content (including post captions and graphic design); monitor post reach, activity & responses
• Identify, research and work with influencers to grow our audience & build brand awareness
• Plan and manage all contests & giveaways (independently, or collectively with other like-minded brands)
• Take charge of building Fluf’s TikTok account from the ground up

Skills / Traits We’re Looking For:

The most important skill we are looking for is an obsession with social media in general, as well as a deep understanding of the latest in-app features and trends on IG and TikTok (sounds, challenges, editing techniques etc), and an ambition to create and optimize amazing content for these platforms. Other things we are looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing or relevant field
• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in social media roles, conceiving of, and creating, content and digital storytelling (focus on video a plus)
• In depth knowledge of various platforms, including Instagram/ Facebook, TikTok and Twitter (knowledge of Pinterest and Linkedin a bonus)
• Knowledge of hashtag and engagement strategies
• Graphic design / in-app video content creation and editing
• Experience with Photoshop (photography skills a plus)
• Creative thinking and strong caption-writing skills
• Enjoy working collaboratively, as well as capable of working independently with little supervision
• Desire to have meaningful input and direct the social strategy in a small, growing brand

Bonus Skills:

• Knowledge of and interest sustainable brands + sustainability culture
• Comfortable speaking to/being on camera for TikTok / IG content
• Knowledge of influencer/content creator industry and how it can be leveraged
• Intermediate knowledge of photography/videography as well as editing tools
