Shopify Developer - Tradlands [CLOSED]

We are a small remote team working both full-time and part-time, and we have contractors worldwide. We are eager to welcome innovative ideas and strategies in hopes that new insights breed innovation and leadership in our company and our industry. To accommodate our growth, we are looking for a Shopify Developer to support Tradlands in our web development needs while being intuitive and productive in seeing our future needs.

As our Shopify Developer, you will:

  • Take sketch designs from graphic designers and code them into the website
  • Increase and improve Google Lighthouse scores
  • Improve site speed through code & app optimisation for the best performance
  • Make CRO improvements through A/B testing & recommendations
  • Re-code the current Tradlands website into Shopify 2.0 theme
  • Conduct ADA compliance audits and implement necessary fixes
  • Conduct website performance tests
  • Monitor the performance of the live website
  • Take initiative in making changes that could positively impact our conversion rate
  • Lead new projects to better our Shopify store
  • Communicate with the co-owner, the CMO & other marketing team members

Once you join our team, your initial project will be to review our website theme code, optimise for best performance & improve our Lighthouse scores.

Tasks will be assigned via Asana, and communication with the team will take place over Slack.

As our successful candidate, you need to have:

  • 3+ Years Shopify Development
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies including CSS3, JavaScript, HTML5, and jQuery
  • Understanding of Shopify app systems and integrations
  • Good understanding of website architecture and aesthetics
  • Ability to translate information about development tasks to non-IT people
  • Excellent written and spoken English Skills

Brownie points for:

  • Knowledge of domain name system (DNS), DNS records, etc.
  • Knowledge of code versioning tools including e.g., Git, Bitbucket
  • Knowledge of content delivery network (CDN) systems (e.g., Cloudflare) to optimize site performance
