  • Performing monthly Google My Business audits and implementing updates as needed for the client’s site
  • Executing quarterly backling audits and implementing disavow
  • Checking for alerts (SEO consoles for Bing and Google, SEM Rush)
  • Executing technical crawls of the site and providing/updating reports on basic SEO elements
  • Managing page titles, meta descriptions, alt/title text, keyword rank distribution, etc.
  • Assisting in implementing metadata, page titles, alt/title text, product title, captioning, on-page copy updates, etc.
  • Test and execute 301 redirects for new site builds and as part of monthly page audits on client sites
  • Performing monthly core vitals audits and initiating tasks for correcting those problems
  • Auditing structured data setups on a quarterly basis and initiating tasks for correcting those problems
  • Auditing Robots.txt and Sitemap.xml on a quarterly basis
  • Preparing monthly SEO reports against stated objectives
  • Working with Excel and Spreadsheets
  • Complete mid-level tasks by asserting independence; this includes:
  • Implementing quarterly and annual SEO strategies and evaluating results
  • Implementing on-page strategy
  • Writing page titles, meta descriptions, alt/title text, product title, captioning, on-page copy updates, etc. using keyword research as a guide
  • Creating content or coordinating the implementation of content on the website
  • Implementing off-page & local strategy (citation builds, GMB, link building, etc.)
  • Working with development resources to implement the technical strategy
  • Coordinating the implementation of planned content strategy with the social team & measuring the results
  • Implementing testing plans and evaluating the results
  • Analysing SEO data (understanding the metrics and levers for each type of SEO on-page, off-page, local, and technical) and measuring the performance against targeted objectives
  • Assisting with sales audits & account onboarding
  • Implementing account strategy & making strategy & tactical recommendations to Senior resource
  • Reviewing the work of junior SEO Specialists
  • Report to the Director of Marketing Services

The first few weeks will include certification testing, learning the time-tracking processes, and spending a lot of time shadowing the team to learn more about what they do and how they do it. You’ll also receive training on methodologies, implementation and strategies. During the second month on the job, you will start fulfilling the implementation duties on specific accounts, and by the third month, some additional accounts will be added to the mix based on the progress made in the second month.

There are weekly team meetings to go over accounts, questions, and additional training. The new hires will also be directed to specific industry-related sites to research/learn and talk about what's going on. The tools you’ll need to use include Office 365 Suite, Sharepoint and Microsoft Teams, as well as the online time-tracking tool Intervals.

In order to excel in this role, you need to have:

  • 3-5 years of experience with SEO
  • Experience with technical, on-page (content), off-page and local SEO; ideally, you have solid experience in on-page SEO and good experience in one of the other areas
  • Excellent experience in using written and visual content to improve rankings, traffic, and results (sales/leads)
  • Good eCommerce experience; experience working in the eCommerce Retail space
  • Experience with Excel and strong data analysis skills
  • Strong experience with SEM Rush/Ahrefs/MOZ or similar tools and website crawling tools like Screaming Frog
  • Good understanding of the Google Search Console, and Google Analytics

Brownie points for:

  • Experience with tools like Bright Local, Frase.io
  • Familiarity with Structured Data/Schema Markup, etc.

The ideal candidate for this role is:

Honest & Trustworthy. You need to acknowledge mistakes and find a way to fix them without attempting to hide them. Mistakes are how we learn best, but if no one knows about them, no one can learn from them or help in the process of fixing them.

Reliable. You need to do the work that you are assigned to the best of your ability in the timeframe you are given.

Good Communicator. If you are having an issue or are struggling to get past a hurdle, you need to take the time to ask for help. If you are waiting on an answer to a question in order to proceed with your work, you need to be proactive in gaining the answer.

Team Player. If another team member is struggling and you have the ability to help, always lend a hand in identifying a solution to get past the hurdle. You also need to interact with the team and not just be the silent person that doesn't engage with the team.

Proactive. If you see an opportunity or a challenge, then raise the issue or offer a suggestion before the opportunity passes.

If this sounds like you, go ahead and apply!
