SEO Project Manager for a Private Equity company, Opportunity to learn about buying and running businesses and work directly with CEO [CLOSED]

Summary

We are a rapidly growing Private Equity company, domainmagnate.com, and we've been successfully buying and managing different online businesses for more than a decade.

As Project Manager you'll be able

  • Work on many different projects, learn about various online businesses and how to grow them
  • Take your skills to the next level by constantly learning and challenging your expertise
  • See up close how businesses are bought and sold, and potentially take part in evaluating and affecting million dollar deals!
  • Learn directly from the CEO with 14 years of experience in buy, managing, growing and selling websites
  • Manage a budget, hire freelancers writers, plan and initiate projects.
  • Be part of a growing remote team, where you're give both clear objectives, instructions, tutoring, but also enough freedom to engage your creativity and work in your best rhythm!

We need someone who is enthusiastic, hard-working, highly organised and experienced in SEO.

This fully remote role is a great opportunity for someone to really develop and progress their SEO and project management skills and take on more responsibility as we grow.

We have many different sites and you'll be able to work on: building links, adding, formating, optimizing content, working with freelance writers, doing competition research, suing SEO tools, planning growth strategy and evaluating websites.

About the role

Full time remote position

Initial pay of $850/ month plus $600 quaterly bonus if you hit your targets. There are also many opportunities for promotion and you can expect your salary to grow as you progress in the position.

You'll be to learn and have access to many courses to upgrade your skills.

The role involves working with me (CEO) and other members of our team.

If you had been working for us in the last month these are a sample of some of the tasks you would have done:

  • Fix/replace broken affiliate links on a website about coffee
  • Properly format and fix some posts and add images to several articles on domainmagnate.com/blog
  • Update some older articles with more recent details about various home improvement products
  • Do keyword research to find topics with low competition and good potential for new articles for a website about small houses
  • Research competing websites to compare and find ideas for further growth for an education niche business
  • Checking and researching backlinks for some websites in the online privacy niche and then trying to get us links from those places
  • Generating and replacing ad codes in several Wordpress sites
  • Anything else we need doing

If you had already mastered those and had been with us for longer, and taken some courses, you would also been able to do the following tasks:

  • Order articles from our existing constractors and freelance writers, then publish those, well formated with additional images and SEO optimized
  • Set up push notifications on several websites and use various plugins to automate them
  • Set up social pages and groups, and add plugins to automate posting there for a site about coffee
  • Add a newsletter to a website about pets
  • Order rewrites and updates of several long articles about forex brokers, optimize and publish them
  • Manage and respond to email requests to negotiate, and set up paid posts on a tech news website
  • Facilitate a smooth transfer of an education website we recently acquired, by checking that everything is working properly after moving, taking over various accounts
  • research and review multiple businesses we are considering to buy to give feedback on further growth opportunities and management

Tasks and projects will be set up in our project management system, and need to be ticked off in there so we can keep track of what has been done.

We have detailed processes written up for how to do some of these jobs, and others need figuring out. Whenever there is a task that involves figuring something out you will be expected to study how to do it, come up with options and get approval before implementing it.

We work a 40 hour work week and you get two weeks paid holiday for every six months worked.

There will be a 3-month trial period for the role to check that we are a good match for each other (fully paid of course).

About you

We need someone who is:

  • extremely organised and reliable – there are many tasks and systems involved, we need to know we can rely on you!
  • hard-working – we don’t mess around here. We get a lot done very quickly. You will need to as well.
  • Intelligent and good at figuring things out – there are lots of problems to solve. You will be expected to try and figure out the options before asking for advice.
  • good at written and spoken English
  • have a solid understanding of how SEO works and some experience with building backlinks and optimizing content
  • very proficient in using wordpress
  • ideally have 1 year or more experience with SEO related projects
