Searchant is a UK based SEO agency with a focus on link building. We’ve grown significantly in the past few years and are going to double in size again this year! That’s where you come in.

We work with our clients long-term and develop a good relationship with them. While we mainly focus on link building, we also provide more general SEO support to ensure we get our customer great results.

About the role:

For us to successfully continue our growth we need you to come onboard as our SEO Account Manager. 

  • The account manager role is to ensure the smooth delivery of the accounts they are charged with, working directly with clients you’ll have full ownership for delivery and their satisfaction.. 

  • This involves a mixture of project management, customer support, people management, SEO strategy and general digital marketing knowledge.

  • You will be working and reporting directly to me (the owner), inbox manager and project manager.

  • Working hours are to be close to GMT normal working hours 9am to 5pm with some flexibility as required which we can discuss together.


 

You will have three primary responsibilities:

1 - Communicate and build great relationships with our customers to make them happy.

2 - Advise our customers on SEO approaches and actions to take

3 - Improve our fulfilment operations - take the lead on improving how we work so that things run smoothly, get more efficient and systemised so we can grow grow grow

 

What you will be doing day to day:

  1. Building strong client relationships by acting as a partner and having a deep understanding of their business and goals.

  2. Liaising with clients as and when needed to request or provide information.

  3. Take the lead on client communications, answer queries in a timely manner, get ahead of issues.

  4. Providing basic digital marketing and project support such as publishing blog posts, optimising blog posts or keyword research.

  5. Use project management software to keep projects on track and the team accountable.

  6. Lead the process of building and updating SOPs, systems and processes.

  7. Be the final point of quality assurance for all client deliverables such as links, content and reports.

  8. Provide monthly reports to customers for accounts that require them.

 

SEO specific responsibilities:

  1. Plan, devise and implement SEO strategies that align with the clients KPIs.

  2.  Identify opportunities for on and off site improvements that go over and above what we offer as standard

  3.  Use SEO knowledge and industry learnings to constantly improve our internal processes, ensuring the continually yield quality and economical results.

  4.  Use SEO knowledge and industry learnings to spot issues within our systems and develop new systems for the team to adopt.

  5.  Deliver training to teach relevant team members about new systems and processes.

  6.  Identify opportunities that will affect the wider SEO team (Algorithm updates, changes to client SERPs, new tools, etc) 

  7.  Identify opportunities to involve other departments (including design, development and content) and threats that may impact their work

  8.  Ensure work is delivered on time, on budget and to a high standard

  9.  Coordinate quarterly and annual strategic account reviews and planning sessions

  10.  Proactively exceed client expectations and bringing tangible added value

  11.  Coordinate agency resources to open fresh revenue opportunities from clients

  12.  Support in creating pitches for potential new clients

  13.  Take on qualification calls with potential new clients, and move them onto the proposal stage.


 

About you:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience as an SEO account manager within an agency or equivalent role.

  • Ability to demonstrate strong on and offsite SEO knowledge.

  • Experience in outreach, link building and content marketing.

  • Experience in taking ownership and responsibility for client projects under your supervision.

  • Experience in managing both customer and internal stakeholders and team members..

  • Strong attention to detail and high level of organisation.

  • Results driven, strong sense of ownership and will go the extra mile to get the job done.
