Job Description

We are looking for a Ruby on Rails developer responsible for developing our product's functionality. Your primary focus will be development of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database, and ensuring high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end. You will also be responsible for integrating the front-end elements into the application. Therefore, a basic understanding of front-end technologies is necessary as well.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Ruby code
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
• Help maintain code quality, organization and automatization
• Create a fully automated billing system
• Create an API for third-party software providers to integrate with us
• Integrate partner company APIs
• Help set priorities for development timeline and roadmap
• Create automated test scripts
• Improve and maintain applications after deployment
• Coordinate with team members who work on different layers of infrastructure

Skills

• 5+ years experience building web applications using Ruby, Ruby on Rails
• You have experience with component API design
• You have experience with Git version control
• You have led the implementation of complex components, websites, and applications
• You are confident in writing Ruby, CSS, JavaScript, and working in applications built in Rails
• You like to go to the extra mile to implement small but important details
• You have a good understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3, Bootstrap
• You have experience reading the API documentation and working with different endpoints to compose the desired effect
• You know how to run projects with solid processes (Git flow, code reviews, reviewing stories, planning)
• You pick up new technologies quickly and efficiently
• You understand fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
• You are able to create database schemas that represent and support business processes
• You can ease yourself into an existing codebase instead of having to always rewrite everything immediately
• You are willing to evaluate existing solutions/gems for applicability instead of just jumping instantly on the latest fad (unless it really is better, of course!)
• You see the “big picture” and implement solutions that fit into the existing architecture
• You are able to implement automated testing platforms and unit tests
