PHP dev (Laravel) for fast-growing Startup Incubator [CLOSED]

The Opportunity - build great businesses

We tend to build Startups from scratch which means being part of structuring the tech with our Product Manager, Tech Lead and Designer.

What you'll do:

• Working with our tech lead and frontend devs, you’ll create awesome applications using PHP to support our Startups
• Be involved as much as you want in shaping the product we create - we’re a close team and everyone’s opinion is important
• Write resilient code that will be continuously tested, deployed and performed at scale
• Be a leader within the team, actively improving overall software quality whilst also helping fellow team members
• Contribute to the team's technical direction and the improvement of its tools and processes

What you'll bring:

• 5+ years PHP experience and all-round tech legend
• Good understanding of development best practices such as pair programming, test-driven environment, continuous integration and continuous delivery
• Experience with optimising applications in areas such as performance, security and resilience
• Ability and enthusiasm to push for new improvements across the code base and influence/learn from a large community of developers
• Ability to help in coaching and mentoring junior members of the team

Appy is a fairly unique business incubator. We are tech partners to non-technical founders, but also get involved on the commercial side of making businesses successful.

We’re practitioners, not theorists, meaning we get involved in creating our own ventures too - leveraging our experience to short cut learnings for ourselves and our partners.

Over the years we’ve been involved in lots of ventures, some more successful than others (including 1 exit), and at all stages, we’ve learnt tons.

On a day to day basis, the core of our work is looking to create optimised User Journeys (from someone that’s never heard of you to becoming an ambassador for a business), which is usually achieved through building scalable and automated tech.
