Are you a data-driven strategist with a passion for digital media?

Big Sea is looking for a dynamic and experienced Paid Media Manager to join their team of creative professionals and lead their projects to the finish line!

As the Paid Media Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in driving Big Sea’s digital strategies forward by making informed, data-driven decisions. You'll work in close collaboration with the Account Strategist, Assistant Digital Media Buyer, and the Big Sea Marketing & Account teams to ensure seamless project execution. Reporting directly to the President, you'll have the exciting opportunity to build your own department and make a significant impact on the organisation throughout 2023.

More specifically, within this role, you will be responsible for:

🔍 Research, Analysis, and Critical Thinking; more specifically, you will:

  • Contribute to defining the best digital media mix, targeting, and budgets for clients
  • Stay updated on industry trends and share relevant insights with the team

🚀 Creative Media Strategy; more specifically, you will:

  • Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies via digital channels
  • Create and present sophisticated paid media strategies to clients
  • Plan, execute, and measure experiments and conversion tests
  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimise landing pages and user experience
  • Conduct keyword research, competitive analysis, and identify high-performing ads
  • Create and execute UTM strategies, A/B testing, and support the creative team

🎯 Media Execution; more specifically, you will:

  • Manage paid media ad managers focusing on PPC/SEM, Programmatic, and Social channels
  • Guide and implement Paid Media recommendations with Assistant Media Buyer
  • Identify trends and optimise spend and performance based on insights
  • Handle robust initiatives and design advertising budgets with Marketing Strategists and Account Managers
  • Evaluate end-to-end customer experience across multiple channels and touchpoints
  • Negotiate with media channels and evaluate emerging technologies for adoption

📊 Measurement & Reporting; more specifically, you will:

  • Define and report key metrics, ROI, and/or ROAS with Media Strategists
  • Analyse channel performance and provide campaign adjustment recommendations
  • Generate performance reports and troubleshoot data anomalies
  • Utilise Google's Data Studio or equivalent marketing visualisation tools

  • Inspire, develop, and mentor a team of Strategists, Media Buyers, and Big Sea team members
  • Lead efficient brainstorming sessions to produce breakthrough insights
  • Build productive collaboration and enable successful teamwork

During the new employee onboarding process, which takes approximately two weeks, you will receive ample support from your teammates. This initial period will be focused on familiarising yourself with the team, tools, processes, and clients. Additionally, you will be engaged in design tasks to help you integrate smoothly into your new role and environment.

You possess strong attention to detail and technical experience, particularly in reporting and optimising campaigns Furthermore, the business places significant importance on communication and clarity. To excel in this role, you need to have:

  • 5+ years of experience managing paid media campaigns or a similar role
  • Deep knowledge of Google, Bing, Meta, TikTok, and other paid media platforms, including Programmatic
  • Understanding of how each platform works together for effective media recommendations
  • Experience with budget planning and KPIs
  • Ability to manage and combine data
  • Strong leadership qualities, attention to detail, work ethic, empathy, and professionalism
  • Excellent analytical skills to gather, analyse, summarise, and present data
  • Creativity in identifying target audiences and devising engaging digital campaigns
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments
  • Working knowledge of analytics & research tools (e.g., SparkToro, SEMRush, SpyFu, TapClicks, DataStudio)
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, link tracking, UTM conversion pixels/tags, SEMrush, Google Search Console, and online attribution concepts
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing and measurement
  • Effective time management and organisational skills, with experience in Asana or another project management tool being a bonus
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Finance, Business, or a related field

Brownie points for:

  • Having creative experience with ads
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript development and constraints
