We are A.J. and Olivia and we have built up a portfolio of digital marketing products and a small team that needs some help, management, and marketing love. 

We need someone to help us with two key things:

  1. Get the word out about our member community and listing opportunities.

  2. Help our members communicate with one another and get great value from our offerings.

There are more things that this role involves, and there could be more that you could get involved with depending on your interests and skills. We are interested in growing your skills, and as our work together grows, you’ll get hands-on education and we’ll also pay to make sure you are getting top-notch training. 

Here are some things that you will be doing:

  • Administering and moderating business and event listings and offering friendly advice

  • Being the key contact for our members and customers (they’ll know your name and you’ll be the go-to person for any questions) 

  • Giving listing owners advice on how to write optimized listings

  • Pushing out our blog content on our site and social media channels

  • Managing our newsletter and email campaigns

  • Working with our partners for co-promotional activities

  • Doing grassroots marketing on behalf of Cannabis Stack by participating in groups, pages and other targeted blogs

  • Managing virtual events from sponsors and speakers coordination and preparation to audience communications

  • Coming up with, and executing, our next great thing to help with marketing campaigns and partnerships to grow our database and member community globally 

  • Keep our listings accurate and fresh, moderate submissions and comments and keep information and work flowing

You’ll have full support from us, the Digital Marketing Manager, along with other team members and a range of SOP’s and information, you don’t need to ‘know’ everything, you just need to be interested in learning what you don't know.

Attitude is everything! We are seeking someone who is passionate, smart, creative, self-motivated and highly organized to work on a variety of online support, marketing and organizational activities.  We are  going to be working closely together, hopefully for a long time,  so a sense of humor will go a long way.  

 

A Typical Week (or Two)

If you had been working for us in the last couple of weeks these are a sample of some of the tasks you would have done:

  • Format and publish existing blog posts on our website (WordPress)

  • Review submitted listings and make minor edits to improve their quality

  • Identify potential businesses to include on our site 

  • Provide customer support over email (sponsors, partners, members)

  • Find and implemented a tool to improve our customer support and email processes

  • Publish our newsletter or other email communications

  • Create and schedule internal ads on our site

  • Create images for ads, social media or our website using Canva

  • Use LinkedIn to find and contact prospective members

  • Find and outreach to potential partners for a way to co-promote

  • Participate in daily stand up meetings and brainstorms

  • Spend time reviewing our site to find ways to improve information and flow

  • Add customer support emails to our FAQs  

  • Anything else needed doing

There is a range of other opportunities to get involved in other aspects of the business including analytics reporting, and VA/EA tasks to support us in our business. What you get involved in all depends on your skills and interests.

We have detailed processes written up for how to do some of these jobs, and others need figuring out. Whenever there is a task that involves figuring something out you will be expected to study how to do it, come up with options, and get approval before implementing it.

 

Requirements - What We Need From You

  • Excellent Written English - You will be supporting our customers and writing emails and maybe editing some articles both for Cannabis Stack and our listing owners for our website, social media and emails, so excellent written English skills are essential.

  • High Attention to Detail - You will have significant autonomy to write and post information online to our website, social media channels and to our customers directly. You must have excellent attention to detail and the ability to accurately proof your own work. 

  • Experience with online content creation - You’ll be using a variety of systems including Canva, Wordpress and MailChimp to create content for our customers so you need experience and familiarity with these or similar tools.

  • Able to learn new software tools and systems quickly - We use a variety of systems including Asana, Wordpress, Google Drive (Sheets and Documents), Gmail, Canva, Google Analytics, Facebook, LinkedIn and others so you’ll need to be willing and able to learn new systems through a variety of self-taught methods. Tasks will be worked in our project management system (Asana), with communication through Asana, Slack and weekly calls over Skype.

  • Intelligent, Self Motivated, Highly organized and Confident in asking questionsI - You’ll be working remotely with communication across a variety of channels and task management through Asana and other online tools so we need to be sure that you ask questions if you are not sure of what to do.

  • Extremely organized – there are lots of different things you’ll be involved in and all need to be prioritized, managed and completed accurately, effectively and on time.

  • Hard-working –  We get a lot done very quickly. You will need to as well.

  • Available to work at least 4 hours of your working day between 7AM and 11AM NYC

  • Ideally have 6 months + experience with marketing or related activities (including any of Facebook Ads, landing pages, email marketing, etc.)

  • This is a full time role, so that is at minimum 40 hours per week with Available to work at least 4 hours of your working days (Monday - Friday) between 7AM and 11AM NYC

  • The role is 100% remote, you can work from anywhere you choose, so long as you have a fast and consistent internet connection, your own computer and a webcam.

  • Some flexibility of your hours is required so you can run things like virtual events in the evening or to deal with deadlines or the odd unexpected event over the weekend - there’s flexibility in this so you absolutely will NOT be working every day of the week

  • Salary of $1000 - $1250 per month and is commensurate with experience and enthusiasm.

  • In the future we’ll be implementing a profit-based bonus scheme, we want everyone to share in the success of as we grow
