Operations Manager - MedicalHero [CLOSED]

Full Time 1500.00 - 2000.00 USD Type: Monthly

The company creates digital products that help customers pass licensing exams that are required to enter various professions. It currently has two different brands: one for medical careers, and another for beauty careers.

Passing these exams is often a struggle and many people fail on the first attempt because even if they have all the skills they need, they've not been prepared to answer the types of questions that come up on the test. The company provides study guides and practice exams that help them study the right material, go take the exam with confidence, and pass on their first try!

The company has helped hundreds of students & grown sales significantly over the past year. They have ambitious plans to introduce new products on their existing sites, as well as start a third site in a new niche. That’s why the owners are looking for a talented, hard-working manager to help grow the business to its full potential.

You’ll be employee #1 in an established business, giving you a rare opportunity to “act like an owner” -– running things day-to-day, and directly influencing future growth.

You’ll work across every part of the business, meaning you’ll never stop learning and will have the satisfaction of seeing your efforts quickly and directly have an impact.

You will also have a hand in growing the team & developing the company culture.

Within this role, you will:

  • Manage the company’s outsourced team and set their priorities
  • Interact with freelancers and agencies used for different business functions
  • Report directly to the founders
  • Be responsible for hitting KPIs
  • Run projects such as creating or updating products (this will include developing a plan, hiring a team and managing it to deliver results on time)
  • Compile reports and generate improvement ideas for further discussion

During the onboarding period, you will work closely with the owners to get a clear idea of how the business operates, and after a few weeks you’ll be able to take on day-to-day operations. You’ll be fully supported to deliver your projects, but will have a great deal of autonomy in their execution.

You will also have paid expenses for courses and materials to improve your knowledge in different areas.

Tools used for communication and managing the work:

  • Trello
  • Slack
  • Google Docs

You’re an experienced project/ops manager who takes pride in your ability to solve any challenge: when you put your mind to something, you figure it out and get it done!

You have high personal standards and expect the same standards of others. You’re relentlessly organised, and love leading others to achieve great results.

Does this sound like you? Then this is the only experience you need:

  • Experience in overseeing and managing a team
  • An understanding of online businesses or experience in this field
  • Some level of knowledge in SEO, WordPress and email marketing
  • Brownie points for experience in data-analysis role

Apart from the experience, the company is looking for someone who is reliable & able to figure stuff out on their own. The ideal candidate has:

  • Endless curiosity
  • High standards and good judgement
  • Great initiative
  • Confidence in their abilities and decisions
  • Ability to easily figure out how to use new tools and software

A chance to work in a well-established business as the first full-time member of the team means you’ll be tapping the potential that’s already there.

You will not only have a pivotal role in the growth of the company but will also grow your skills immensely and gather invaluable experience.

What’s in it for you?

  • $1500 - $2000 per month
  • Flexible schedule
  • Fully remote position - work from anywhere in the world
  • A great deal of autonomy
  • Opportunities for growth
  • Unlimited personal development budget
  • Unlimited paid time off, as long as the results are there

*Please note that this is a gross salary and that you are responsible for any tax-related procedures in your country of residence. We kindly ask you to apply only if you are happy to work remotely as an independent contractor.

This position will be closed as soon as we find the perfect match. So, make sure to read the description carefully and take your time to submit a high-quality application that stands out.
