Lead Developer for SaaS start-up wanted! (Java, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, AngularJS) – long term [CLOSED]

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team at a new start up that wants to grow and be the best tool in the market. We are looking for someone interested in remote work who is willing to work with us to grow together and make our vision a reality. We are easy going and respectful, but have high expectations of our work ethic, and you should have them of us as well. We will respect local holidays and will let you decide what hours you are going to work up to the amount contracted.

Initially we're looking for somebody to work 20 hours per week but there may be an option to make this a full time role in the future.

This will be a growing role for you, as you start out as joining the development team there will be opportunities for you to take on and organise other developers. With that in mind we are looking for the following persona:

• You are fluent in English and can communicate your thoughts and ideas clearly
• You are very organised, and you can organise other people
• You see the big picture and you can decide which tasks have priority to best serve and manage our user’s expectations
• (code) quality is a personal mission for you
• Attention to detail, down to every ‘{’
• Analytical mind that can turn every idea into clean coded functionality
• You are reliable, proactive and you can focus on the task at hand and be able to meet deadlines
• You have a stable high-speed internet connection, can work from home (or your office / co-working, etc.) without distractions and be available on Skype
• Love for your craft

We're looking for the following skills:

• At least 5 years of JavaScript experience
• AngularJS is your UI framework of choice
• You are passionate about testing and are focused that it is an integral part of development
• At least 2 years Java experience
• SQL experience
• Lead developer experience, this means you will be 70% developing and 30% managing / planning.
• Managing other developers
• Setting up and maintaining code quality processes
• Kanban (agile) management
• High attention to security!
• GIT - to be able to work with Git repos

Any of these skills make you rocket to the top of the list:

• An operations mindset, not only write the code but realise it has to run as well
• Docker experience
• CI / CD implementation experience
• Data Modelling knowledge

Salary

The salary is negotiable based on your skill set and experience but in the range of $15 - $20 per hour depending on your experience and skills.

We have a bonus and salary increase plan based on your responsibility in individual projects and the success of those projects. They are both also based on the results of the company – AdvancedSeller’s success is your success as well!

Your average day in AdvancedSeller

First, you check in with the team and any messages that might be left for you while asleep. You check if there are any new issues, record and prioritise them over the current planned work. You then give an update on progress with the current task, any problem that might either be a dependency on your current work or prevent you from getting it done.

Then you go and check Trello to check-up on progress on pending tasks. Check with your team mates that they know what to do and that they are aware of the current priorities.

Then when all management stuff is done you checkout the GIT Repo to local and start working on the task pending for yourself.

We work in weekly or fortnightly sprints to protect our developers from constantly changing requirements. So when a sprint is planned a dev knows what to do for the next week or 2 weeks.

AdvancedSeller is a bootstrapped start up company building tools for anybody who sells on the Amazon marketplace.

AdvancedSeller is in its build up to its first alpha release to our customers. When we get this feedback we'll iterate quickly to learn, and pivot when required, pending our customer feedback.

The team is run by a CEO and CTO, it doesn’t matter in which time zone you are currently based in, as long as you make it to our daily meetings that are a must to attend.
