Graphic & Information Designer [CLOSED]

Hello there,

My name is David and I founded a tech website called VPNOverview.com. We write about VPN software, password managers, antivirus, online privacy, cybersecurity, geopolitics, streaming, downloading, and online freedom. We’re active in 10 languages, so we’re striving for quite an international reach.

What are we looking for?

Currently, we are looking for a designer that can help us with making visuals according to the guidelines in our brand book. Think social posts, infographics, featured images, screenshot editing and all-around support when it comes to visual design. You’ll be working together with our lead designer and our various writers. It’s a remote freelance design job, but if there is a good fit, we would like to work with you long-term; there are plenty of opportunities when it comes to improving our work with designs and infographics!

Ideally, you are available between 24 and 40 hours per week. I’m looking for a designer that meets the following criteria:

• Experienced designer with native or near-native written English proficiency level.
• Proficient with working with Adobe programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Able to work autonomously.
• Someone who can form their own idea of what a visual should look like and can edit copy if needed.
• Someone who’s detail-oriented when it comes to visual style, colors, and form.
• Someone who can handle deadlines and does not fear a challenging workload.
• [Optional]: someone who has experience with editing video or making vector-based informational videos in case we want to expand on that in the future.

Main responsibilities:

Making featured vector graphics for articles.

Thinking of ways to visualize complex concepts and then making infographics based on that.

Updating and improving existing visuals that have already been published on the website.

Supporting our social media manager by supplying graphics for social posts.

You will receive requests to make featured images for articles and social media and are able to, autonomously, make visuals according to the style we adhere to according to the brand book. Together with the lead-design you will be responsible for making awesome visuals, for articles, social posts, and studies we publish.

What can you expect from us?

We don’t believe in paying per visual, because some visuals require more work than others, and the time it takes to research a topic or read an article doesn’t always reflect in the time spent working on a visual or infographic. We’re looking for someone who likes to work hard and wants to excel and build an awesome site with us.

You can expect a friendly, flexible work environment where everyone helps each other in making the best product (in our case articles) we can possibly make.

Remuneration indication

Remuneration will be 1,800 USD per month based on a full-time freelance engagement (40 hours/week), with long-term opportunities and room for growth. We are looking for someone for 24 to 40 hours per week, also depending on your availability.

We have a small team in The Netherlands, and also some team members spread across the world. In case of a fruitful collaboration, we can also explore other contract forms.
