How to write the best cover letter to land that job

As a marketing agency, we are full of marketers who love, love, love marketing! We always put our clients first, and that means we are not as organized or systematic about doing our own marketing as we should be.

  • We generate a huge volume of content and want to distribute it more widely.
  • We have a large list that we could be mailing to more often.
  • We do regular webinars and workshops that people rave about, and we want more attendees.

We are looking for someone who loves marketing to design and execute campaigns to bring more people to our events and generate leads.

About the role

This is a part-time role, 20 hours per week, fully remote - you can work from anywhere.

Salary is negotiable depending on your experience. We will pay $1000-1250/month.

The more digital marketing experience you have, the better. But you will be working with a team of experienced marketers who can fill in the gaps and help you learn.

You will primarily be working with me (CEO), coordinating work with writers and our graphic designer. We have 15 people, most of whom are freelancers who work part-time.

You can set your own schedule, as long as you are available for a 1-2 Zoom meetings each week between 9am ET and 1pm ET.

Here's what you will be doing

You will be working on:

  • Email marketing: Set up, manage and optimize email campaigns, including autoresponder sequences. We are currently using InfusionSoft/Keap.
  • Social media: Increasing our audience and promoting events using the company pages on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
  • Website optimization: Monitor Google Analytics and use other tools to understand how people are using the site and look for opportunities to optimize web pages and traffic flow.
  • Reporting: Maintain a spreadsheet where marketing KPIs are tracked and report monthly.

There will be a 2-month trial period for the role to check that we are a good match for each other (fully paid of course).

We need someone who is

  • Extremely organized – there are dozens of tasks involved in marketing, and you’ll need to be able to manage all of these tasks and make sure nothing gets missed
  • Hard-working – we don’t mess around here. We get a lot done very quickly. You will need to as well.
  • Intelligent and good at figuring things out – there are lots of problems to solve when you’re working in online marketing. You will be expected to try and figure out the options before asking for advice.
  • Good written and spoken English
  • 3+ years experience with content marketing (including blogging, social media, webinars, email marketing, etc.)
  • Good sense of humor

We use WordPress (Divi theme), Google Workplace, InfusionSoft/Keap, and Monday.com for project management.
