Right now, the team at Watermark is looking for its next key team member: a mid-to-senior level Full-Stack Developer
More specifically, within this role, you will:
Convert written, graphic, audio, and video components to compatible web formats
Create front-end interfaces for new web platforms
Implement back-end data structures and interfaces to send and receive content and data
Analyse user needs to implement website content, graphics, performance, and capacity
Keep up-to-date on web developments and trends
Escalate any custom development needs to the appropriate team resource
Research and test plugins and third-party libraries that are necessary to complete any non-standard requests
Identify business needs and come up with answers that support the company goals
Work with key partners to deliver punctual, tested and reusable code in a rapidly changing environment
Manage and code solutions creatively
Work through complex business processes and generate accessible solutions using the best-of-breed tools
Other responsibilities that you may also include:
Maintain daily communication with Watermark Partner(s) relative to new prospects, best practices, workflow issues, technical issues, etc.
Interface with clients relative to input/feedback on projects you are assigned
Quality control of all work produced before being submitted for proofreading, approval, or deployment
Participate in internal “brainstorming sessions” relative to creative/conceptual
Participate in person for production meetings
Populate Asana daily re: notes relative to project progress, communication with clients on any projects you are assigned
Interface with vendors relative to quality control/deadlines
Collaborate with leadership and other team members to come up with appropriate solutions
Participate in client presentation meetings and participate in Watermark’s strategic inbound development efforts
Participation at project inception to maintain timely workflow and client communication
Assist co-workers in expediting projects to rapid completion
Understand and identify clients’ strategic communication requests
Implement SEO strategies on client websites based on analytics data gathered
Monitor HubSpot and social media analytics for Watermark and Watermark’s inbound
marketing clients
Compile details required for proposals, estimates, and status reports for clients, as needed
Interact with the team of developers and the account team
Although the company counts on your experience and expertise with the coding languages, you will have an onboarding process organised for you so that you can learn more about the company, the services they offer, and the team. You will quickly hit the ground running, however, and get to work on the projects.
In order to excel in this role, you need to have:
3+ years of experience in a relevant full-stack development position
Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts
Strong familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript
Proficiency with React framework, especially functional components, pure functions, and hooks.
Proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks, syntax and concepts (ex/ ECMA Script 6+)
Strong understanding of web standards (HTTP protocols, browser, HTML, etc.)
Experience with build tools (ex/ Grunt, Gulp, Webpack, etc.)
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and solutions (Netlify is a plus)
Familiarity with unit testing libraries such as jest and react-testing-library
Comfort with and understanding of version control, continuous integration, and deployment tools
Experience with code repositories (Git / GitHub)
Familiarity with CSS preprocessors (SASS, LESS)
Familiarity with CSS-in-JS
Experience with REST API endpoints and resultant data (JSON, XML)
Experience with creating and maintaining WordPress, adhering to development best practices and the ability to properly extend the core functionality
Ability to manage multiple projects at once
Ability to work both independently and with a team
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Brownie points for:
Experience with static site generator React frameworks (Gatsby, Next.js)
Experience with headless CMS solutions such as Contentful
Experience with GraphQL
Some PHP experience
Academic/B.Sc. Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent
What’s in it for you?
Monthly salary of $4500*
Fully remote & full-time role
Working hours Monday to Friday, ideally between 11 AM and 7 PM
