Executive Assistant - Testpad [CLOSED]

Full Time 1000.00 - 1200.00 USD Type: Monthly

This is a chance to be one of the first hires in an exciting startup. But not just any startup; a start up that is already profitable, is entirely bootstrapped (no VCs to keep happy), and with huge potential for growth.

Testpad is a SaaS tool for managing test plans. It’s for dev and test teams who are in a mess with spreadsheets, have hunted for a better solution, and before Testpad, gave up as everything else on the market is heavyweight traditional “test case management”. Testpad’s customers love how straightforward it is and regularly provide feedback saying what a joy it is to use.

Testpad has been built and run by Stefan Butlin, who has been working solo on Testpad since November 2010, steadily growing the feature set and user base, to the point that it’s now time to hire a small team of awesome people and accelerate the growth of this unique product (and while having a lot of fun in the process).

Testpad is looking for an amazing Executive Assistant to help support the running of the company on a wide variety of work and tasks.

The role will include customer support activities such as giving demos, answering support emails, writing and improving help documentation, and producing help and tutorial videos. As such, you will be quite the voice and face of Testpad to its customers.

The customer support load is very light for a product of Testpad’s size, so the role will also have wide-ranging scope for a variety of project management, documentation, and providing general admin and organisation help for the founder.

In more detail then, as the Executive Assistant at Testpad, you will:

  • Answer support emails and identify when to escalate instead of answer
  • Write great help documents, either from scratch or improving existing articles
  • Give product demos on video calls to potential new customers
  • Record and produce (or arrange the production of) tutorial videos and guides
  • Provide key input to the product roadmap, feature set and detailed UI decisions (building on all your experience interacting with our customers)
  • Invoice customers who are on the Custom plan, both handling finance paperwork for new customers and chasing up existing customers for renewals
  • Set up and maintain a company project/information management tool such as ClickUp or Notion (but you help us decide)
  • Help manage the team (goals and context will be set by the founder, but you will help with progress tracking and general team communication to keep everyone up to date and on the same page)
  • Establish process and documentation towards Security Certification
  • Run the recruitment process of further team members
  • Look after sourcing and management of contractors for specialised tasks
  • Help the founder with various admin tasks including work email, booking travel and calendars
  • Help test Testpad (using Testpad!)

To excel as Testpad’s Executive Assistant you need to have:

  • Experience in an Executive Assistant role or similar
  • Experience working as a Customer Support Representative or similar
  • Perfect spoken and written English to come across well in demos, videos and customer-facing documentation
  • Great decision-making & problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organisational skills & ability to prioritise tasks
  • An insatiable appetite for learning new skills, tools and process
  • A process-oriented mindset with a flair for pragmatism when appropriate

In addition, you need to be happy:

  • A monthly salary of $1000 to $1200* depending on experience and talent
  • 5 weeks paid holiday per year
