Right now, Proxyrack is looking for a Dev Ops Engineer to help deliver apps from developers to production and ensure high availability for their customers.

As the new Dev Ops Engineer, you will:

  • Learn the company’s current set-up (utilizing Hashicorp products - Nomad, Consul, Vault)
  • Implement CI/CD for the existing microservice applications
  • Manage & improve high availability requirements by orchestrating applications between multiple datacenters
  • Own the core services used by multiple engineering team members.
  • Develop & implement your own ideas for improving the setups

You will interact mostly with the Founder and the Dev Team, but will report to the General Manager who will make sure you have everything you need.

During the first few weeks, you will receive training and get to know the team, but will also have the opportunity to start making your own plan and maybe even implement some of it. The tools you’ll use are Slack, Notion and Jira. This is a full-time role, but you are free to manage your own schedule, as long as you can have some overlap with other timezones for certain projects or meetings.

To be a successful candidate, you need:

  • DevOps experience
  • Experience in using Linux: Ubuntu - HashiCorp Nomad (Orchestration tool), HashiCorp Consul (Mesh networking), HashiCorp Vault (Secrets)
  • Experience in using Baremetal servers / Ansible Playbooks / Golang & NodeJS repositories
  • Excellent skills in TCP/IP networking

Our ideal candidate is someone who doesn’t mind working by themselves and doesn’t require much hand-holding, with the ability to solve problems and make their own suggestions on how to improve. You also need to be tech-savvy and eager to take on new challenges.
