I run a small team of people who build highly targeted lists of contacts and emails on behalf of our clients. In the past, each team member has searched for a company with relevant criteria, found the appropriate person to contact, and then tracked down their contact information.
Recently we have been having much more success splitting this into two parts:
One part of the team simply finds the companies that match the criteria
The other part of the team finds the appropriate person and tracks down their contact information
We are hiring someone to track down these companies, so the other half of the team has a large list of companies to find email addresses for each day.
Skills required from you
You need to have an understanding of marketing well enough to identify a good fit of the prospects you find
You need to be a fast worker - while quality is the most important, the speed in which you qualify or reject each prospect is important
Need to have prior list building experience
