This is a freelance science role with the potential for promotion to full-time. You will grow with the company and potentially get promoted. This position is fully remote, so you can work from anywhere.

You will be working directly with the CEO - Nattha Wannissorn, PhD. Nattha is a scientist with a degree in molecular genetics. She is also a personal trainer and natural health practitioner. Her mission is to help grow the natural health industry through scientific integrity. In addition, she is a full-stack internet marketer specialized in email marketing and science-based copywriting.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Writing articles for the lay people, as assigned

  • Simplifying scientific concepts for the lay audience without losing the scientific accuracy

About you:

You possess:

  • A research-based graduate degree (MS, PhD, or DSc) in biomedical sciences or a degree in medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, or veterinary medicine

  • Hands-on research and scientific appraisal experience

  • Experience with writing and editing for the lay audience

  • (Preferred) clinical experience

  • Good at finding relevant information, be it on the internet, in journal databases, or through interviewing

You are:

  • Intelligent, love to learn new skills, great at problem-solving, and master technical skills fast

  • Good at understanding complex concepts and making it accessible to the lay audience

  • Hardworking and get things done

  • Very detail-oriented and organized

  • Personable with colleagues and clients over Slack and video calls

  • A direct communicator who is comfortable providing and taking constructive criticisms

  • Great at written and spoken American English

  • Available to communicate (scheduled conference calls or Slack messages) between 10 am and 4 PM Texas time. However, the work may be done at any hours convenient for the writer.

  • Good with Google Suites, Mendeley, and at least one project management tool

Growth opportunities:

  • Learning about digital marketing and SEO

  • Promotion to full-time positions, such senior editor and management roles

Compensation

Incumbents will be compensated based on a per-article basis based on the quality of the work.
