Laravel / PHP Developer to work on JobRack [CLOSED]

Part Time Negotiable

HTML5 CSS2 CSS3 PHP Laravel

Summary

This role is to work on this platform, JobRack itself.

JobRack is an online job platform specifically focused on providing awesome Eastern European remote workers to businesses all over the world.

We are working hard to scale JobRack to be MUCH bigger and have exciting plans ahead for 2020.

Right now I’m looking for a skilled developer that can assist me, dealing with a range of tasks from relatively small tasks on the platform to larger pieces of work. Task initially however for the right person this will grow to a more formal commitment with regular hours and benefits.

You’ll be working directly for me, the Owner and CEO of the business with task management and communication through Asana and Slack.

Essential Skills:

  • High standard of English

  • PHP

  • Laravel

  • HTML/CSS

  • Javascript

  • MYSQL

  • Git (we use gitlab)

  • Comfortable working as the sole developer on tasks and projects

Essential Experience:

  • Experience building web-based software applications

  • Experience troubleshooting issues and putting effective fixes in place

  • Experience of reviewing and gaining an understanding of systems through code

  • Experience working with and managing repositories and branches in Git

  • Understanding of the importance of performance and how to write queries and optimise code for fast load and execution times

  • Ideally you would also have worked with Stripe integrations as well.

Benefits / Details

  • Initially task-based - we’ll agree an hourly rate, you’ll estimate the effort to complete tasks and we’ll go from there on a task by task basis.

  • We use time tracking software to keep things simple for both of us.

  • Hourly rate - negotiable.

  • Work directly for the Owner with opportunity to suggest your own ideas, make improvements and make a real difference

  • Initially around 5 hours per week however I have a significant backlog of work so if you have more hours available then great

Success Metrics

We’ll review your work regularly including both volume and quality to ensure that expectations are being met.

You will always be supported and always able to ask questions and be a part of JobRacks progression. Your success means our success so it is in our interest for you to succeed and be awesome at what you do.

We’ll expect you to be always on the lookout for ways to make the business and platform better and to bring ideas both big and small forward regularly.

How to Apply

1 - Check you meet the requirements above

2 - Hit apply, tell me your availability (hours per week), your hourly rate and when you’re available to work (I have tasks I want to get done right now!).

3 - Tell me a little about your experience and how you’ve made the difference to a previous company

4 - Tell me what you want from the work/role moving forwards. If it’s just a project based gig for you that’s fine, if you want it to grow to part-time or full-time then that’s cool too.

5 - Tell me how you think I should 'test' / verify a developer's skills as part of the recruitment process
